Gold Pokal Awards Dinner

Here it is, the Gold Cup... I heard it weighs so much that it is worth more than a Folkboat. Who knows How much this thing weighs?
The top 14 places were awarded trophies in this 66 boat regatta.
Special awards were given out, but I'll explain those later.
Cassandra looking ravishing as always.
Bjorge, Torbin's twin brother... this is also a story for later.
Peter and Suzi
Don and Joan... couldn't see Dave, Dan and Martin from my seat at the dinner.

Ditte and Anders
Bjorn sporting his German drinking hat.
Annika and that guy who wore his blue blazer and tie... just who does he think he is anyway?
Mike and his very important glass of red wine.
Our host for the week, Robert Winkler. He was also the race chairman and I think did an amazing job. Always calm cool and collected, he and the Flensburg club put on a great regatta.

This is Soren Kastel... he won. Truly some amazing sailing. See the results for details.

We ended up 7th place!

Per Buch was 6th.

John Wulff was 5th

Andreas Christiansen was 4th, Ulf Kipcke was 3rd.
Christoph Nielsen was 2nd

... and Soren Kastel was 1st. They won 3 of the 6 races and were clearly the best boat there.

Best seat in the house.
As the regatta drew to a close, I reflected back on all that happened and all that I captured with my camera. All the pictures can not possibly tell the whole story. The sailing was great, the people were nice and the experience will last a life time.
