The Kings of Sweden!!!

For those who don't keep up with the Scandinavian Folkboat race results our friends Donald Bratt, Bjorn Johansson and Lars Landan in Sjojungfrun (Mermaid) , participants in the 2005 SF Cup, won the Swedish International Championship. Congratulations!
And, it looks like they will bring this winning momentum over here for the 2007 SF Cup. So, look out... a boat full of motivated, competitive, winning Swedes may be something to fear.
Their scores were 1.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 (6.0) 5.0 1.0 1.0 for a total of 19.0 and 13.0
when you take into account the throw out. Bjorn, the eternal bashful introvert said,

"In race three only the toughest of the tough survived. The swedish
folkboat-class was then reduced to a minimum. The wind was at an average 36
knots and peaking at 46. We missed the start by 4.5 min and still
finished numero uno. Of course it is not the skipper that's the difference
but the foredecker. This time little Lars (the visibility was so low
he couldn't check out the oresund-bridge) was on the foredeck and
last year it was Donald. The only thing equal was the swearing idiot in
the middle of the boat (yours truly). Now we are also known as the best sailors of Sweden."
There may be a sliver of hope for all other contenders this year, Lars Landan has been known
to have a bizarre obsession with bridge building... perhaps he will be too distracted with
our new Bay Bridge to concentrate on the racing.
Whatever the case may be, it will be nice to see our friends from Sweden once again.
