All Kinds of Junk

What is it about the Nordic Folkboat? There sure are a lot of stories to tell and we sure are spoiled rotten to sail where we do. We race just inside the Golden Gate Bridge minutes from where we keep our boats where winds regularly hit 20-30 knots. I feel lucky just to be apart of the fleet. The friends and cast of characters, the racing, the travelling to European regattas... it's all too good to believe. The unbelievable blessing continues.

Hiking in Ljungskile

It's 3pm local time and I'm back from a 15k hike in
the hills above Ljungskile. wow. What a great place to
hike... I saw no people. There were three lakes along
the way so I stopped at the first one because it had a
dock and I went swimming, hung out for 30 minutes
enjoying the peace and quite, then continued my new
photo project taking pictures of "All Things Swedish".
It should prove to be entertaining. :)
The path was clearly marked and Bjorn made me a map on
the back of one of his sailing school postcards... he
is a man of many talents. His directions were flawless
and I was never worried for one moment about being lost.
At some points the bushes were very think and it was hard
to see the path, but the markers kept me on track. I
hiked in the place they cross country ski in the
winter(see photos). There was a shooting range as well for the
biantholon training. So, I hiked a 10.5k loop and then
walked back into town (another 5k) and had lunch, went swimmimg
again and then did laundry. I packed way to much stuff.
Next time, half the clothes... it's been so hot.
